Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of ApplyOwl, provided by Zoey OS, LLC. It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.

Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account. We may update this AUP at any time with 30 days' notice.

0. Eligibility and Lawful Use

• You must be at least 13 years of age (see Terms Section 2.1).
• You must use the Services only in compliance with this AUP, the Terms, and all laws applicable to you. You are responsible for ensuring your use is lawful where you are.
• You may not use the Services from, or for the benefit of anyone in, a country or territory subject to comprehensive U.S. or other applicable export sanctions (see Section 3.4).

1. Responsible Use of Automation (ApplyOwl-Specific)

ApplyOwl acts in your own browser, on your behalf, to apply to jobs. You may not use it to:

• Submit false, fraudulent, or materially misleading applications, or misrepresent your identity, work authorization, qualifications, education, or experience.
• Apply on behalf of another person without their authorization, or operate ApplyOwl for anyone other than yourself except where expressly permitted.
• Mass-spam employers or job platforms — e.g., firing off high volumes of low-relevance or duplicate applications in a way designed to overwhelm, degrade, or abuse a site or its recipients.
• Violate the terms of service, robots restrictions, or rate limits of any website ApplyOwl interacts with (including LinkedIn, job boards, and applicant-tracking systems). Many sites restrict automated interaction; you are responsible for your use on each site and use ApplyOwl there at your own risk.
• Harvest, scrape, or resell job-posting data, recruiter contact information, or other content obtained through the Services for distribution or sale.
• Circumvent a site's access controls, bot-detection, or security, or use ApplyOwl to gain unauthorized access to any account or system.
• Automate communications in violation of law — e.g., unsolicited messages that violate anti-spam, telemarketing, or consent laws.

You remain responsible for reviewing what ApplyOwl submits and for complying with each site's rules. ApplyOwl includes a confirmation step before irreversible actions where offered; use it.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Services to create, store, transmit, or distribute content that:

2.1 Illegal Content

• Constitutes, facilitates, or promotes illegal activity
• Contains child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors
• Facilitates human trafficking, forced labor, or exploitation
• Violates export controls or sanctions

2.2 Harmful Content

• Promotes, incites, or instructs violence, terrorism, or self-harm
• Constitutes harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation
• Promotes discrimination or hatred based on any protected characteristic
• Contains malware or other harmful code

2.3 Deceptive / Infringing Content

• Is fraudulent, false, or intentionally misleading, or impersonates any person or entity
• Constitutes phishing or social engineering
• Infringes any third party's intellectual-property, publicity, or privacy rights

3. Prohibited Platform Uses

3.1 Technical Abuse

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other users' accounts, or our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Services, or conduct denial-of-service attacks
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security, licensing, device limits, usage limits, or geographic/sanctions controls
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App (except as permitted by law)

3.2 Commercial Abuse

• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Services without our written authorization
• Use the Services to provide a competing service to third parties
• Share account credentials or create multiple accounts to circumvent limits, suspensions, or bans

3.3 Export Controls, Sanctions & Geographic Restrictions

• You may not use, access, export, or re-export the Services in violation of any applicable export-control or sanctions laws (including OFAC and BIS administered laws, and comparable laws elsewhere).
• You may not use the Services if you are located in, resident in, or accessing from a comprehensively sanctioned country or territory, or if you are on (or owned/controlled by a party on) any prohibited- or restricted-party list.
• You may not circumvent our geographic access controls (e.g., via VPN or proxy) to do any of the above.

4. Reporting Violations

Report suspected violations to support@applyowl.app. Include a description, any evidence, and the account involved (if known). We review all reports, respond within 5 business days, and do not disclose reporters' identities.

5. Enforcement

5.1 Investigation

We may investigate suspected violations. You agree to cooperate by providing information we reasonably request.

5.3 Appeal Process

If suspended or terminated, you may appeal by emailing support@applyowl.app within 14 days, including your account email, the action appealed, and why you believe it was in error. We review appeals within 10 business days with a written decision.

5.4 Refund on Enforcement Action

Accounts terminated for AUP violations are not entitled to refunds, except where required by mandatory consumer-protection law. Accounts suspended for investigation that are subsequently cleared receive credit for the suspension period where applicable.

6. International / Local-Law Compliance

This AUP sets a global baseline. Your use must also comply with the laws of your own country and any country you direct activity to through the Services. Where local law is stricter, follow the stricter requirement. Where local law grants non-waivable rights, nothing here limits them.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP with at least 30 days' notice of material changes. The current version is always available at applyowl.app/legal/aup.
